Instructions: Use our Self Esteem Exercises: Create a Gratitude Journal - Gratitude List to expand your capacity for appreciation and thankfulness.

1. Print the Gratitude Journal - Gratitude List Worksheets to write what you are grateful for each day. (Or use a special personal journal.)

2. Keep your completed Gratitude Journal Worksheets handy. The next time you are feeling low self esteem and a lack of gratitude read and add to your Gratitude List.

Then notice your attitude change.


Gratitude Journal - Sample Gratitude List

Before you go to sleep each night, write a Gratitude List of five things you are grateful for. Begin each item with the words: I am grateful. . .

    1. I am grateful for my health.
    2. I am grateful for my friendship with Joan.
    3. I am grateful I am completing my gratitude list today!
    4. I am grateful for Jody my walking buddy.
    5. I am grateful for my Iphone!

Each day write down one item you have never before expressed appreciation for:

    1. I am grateful for my toenails.
    2. I am grateful for light bulbs.
    3. I am grateful for the food choices in my local supermarket.
    4 I am grateful for my comfortable bed.
